What Is a Private Server?
A Fortnite Private Server (or a "dev server" or "dev account" as the internet may call it) is a software which emulates the Epic Games' Fortnite database. A private server is better referred to as a "server emulator"[1] [2] It allows you to view and access certain items or cosmetics which would only be available to you through purchasing the items. Fortnite Private Servers do NOT connect to the initial database otherwise known as
*-prod.ol.epicgames.com. A private server also has the capability
to customize and edit
announcements, the shop, locker items,
skins/cosmetics, gifting capability, etc.Some even have the capability to work in-game
How This Works?
A Fortnite private server is essentially a proxy. It works by injecting a DLL into the client that exploits a bug in it. This allows the DLL to change the default, Epic Games' API host to another host. This "new" host host will send customized data back to the client on every server request. Here is an example below of how this works (note that the endpoints and code are fictitious):

return => "real skins of the player"
# edited response (GET)
api.epicgames.com/ACCOUNT-ID/get-skins:
return => "all skins"
Is This Even Legal?
In short: Yes, it is
Although the topic is pretty controversal, most people claim that it is in fact legal as long as you are not interfering with Epic Games' operations. But if in fact hosting and distributing a private server is illegal, as soon as Blaze receives a letter such as a Cease and Desist letter from Epic Games' lawyer, we'll be sure to comply and shut down our operations.
Either way, you'll always be in the clear. It's us who will be liable
